Souls of Bmoor

SMDBL presents "The Souls of Bmoor" – a timely reflection on the ten-year anniversary of the killing of Freddie Gray. Combining music and historical scholarship, SMDBL traces the history of Baltimore City's forceful efforts to contain and control its Black population. As a native Baltimorean, artist, and historian of the city, SMDBL occupies an invaluable position to comment on the historical conditions of Baltimore and the city's racially motivated past and present. "The Souls of Bmoor" is an open invitation to learn about Black Baltimore's history and think deeply about the significance and costs of Baltimore's long relationship with systemic racism.
